The Great Chocolate Chip Cookie Debate – Bakeries

The idea of what makes a chocolate chip cookie great varies from person to person. Some like crisp, some like soft, some like a higher ratio of flour or a cake like cookie, and some like a higher ratio of chocolate chips. My ideal chocolate chip cookie is from the Nestle Toll House recipe, more soft than crisp, and has a ton of chocolate chips.

Based on my preferences, and skimming articles about where to find the best chocolate chip cookie, I have been checking out bakeries mostly in the NYC area. I intend to list the bakeries on this page in addition to the original post.

NYC: Levain ~The Smile To Go ~ Bread Alone (stand) ~ Rubyzaar (booth) ~ Cafe M Studio ~ The Good Batch (chocolate chip cookie can also be found at Birch Coffee)

Philly: Metropolitan
